Bridal Shower Card

Happy New Year everyone! I cannot believe it is 2016 already. I hope this year greets you with joy and love in your heart.

This month on the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog our theme is “Beginnings” with optional element sequins.

How fitting for the new year. To me, when I think “beginnings” I think of my wedding day. This truly was the beginning of my next adventure in life. For this challenge, I wanted to make a bridal shower card fit for a future bride.

MMCCJAN16

For this card, I used some stamped images on the background layered with colored texture paste which I applied through a stencil. The texture paste was colored using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals. The small flower was also sprayed with the same color of magical which I mixed in water. I distressed the edges because the background started feeling very vintage/shabby chic to me.

The dress is made by coloring a chipboard dress form from Creative Embellishment with some bronze distress spray and layering some lace trim. I have added a pearl trim and paper flower to finish off the look.

Thank you for looking and I look forward to seeing how you interpret this months challenge.

  1. What a great Wedding shower card Lysa! Love the dress form with the pretty lace and flower and your background of stampings and embossings show it off nicely! Happy 2016! Julia xx
